Carsten Stendevad.

Carsten is the President and Chief Investment Officer at Acumen. Carsten also serves as Chair of the Board of DRC (Danish Refugee Council) and as board member of Vertical Aerospace.

Previously, Carsten was a partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer for Sustainable Investing at Bridgewater, and prior to that, CEO of ATP (Denmark’s national pension plan). Prior to ATP, Carsten led Citi’s global corporate finance advisory team in in New York. Prior to joining Citi, Carsten worked for McKinsey in New York, as well as the Central Bank of Denmark.

Carsten is Advisor Emeritus to GIC (Singapore's sovereign wealth fund), having previously served as their board advisor. Carsten previously served on the board of Novo Holdings, NOW Pension, and UNICEF Denmark.

Carsten served on the Corporate Governance Committee of Denmark where he chaired the working group tasked with developing a Stewardship Code for Danish institutional investors. He also served on the global steering committee for the Blended Finance Taskforce and was a founding member of the global coalition entitled “Focusing Capital on the Long-Term”. Carsten is member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Trained as an economist from the University of Copenhagen, he also holds a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Carsten was awarded the Order of Dannebrog in 2016.
